Facility Spotlight: South County Clinic Now Open!

On July 9, 2018, we are pleased to open the doors at our South County clinic, serving the communities of Mehlville, Oakville, Affton, Concord and others. Conveniently located at the intersection of Highway 55 and Lindbergh near South County Center, this clinic will offer a spacious, open layout and friendly atmosphere.

Clinic director, Mandy Carter, is a graduate of the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine Physical Therapy program. She has nearly 16 years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting and is an expert at treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and pain, pre and post-surgical conditions, as well as a variety of other conditions that affect the ability to move and function in optimal fashion. While focused on the source of the pain, Mandy takes careful effort to evaluate the entire person, ensuring that interventions create long-term improvements, not just temporary relief.

In line with the philosophy of Axes Physical Therapy, Mandy is centered on the needs of her patients first but also recognizes that her other clients’ needs are paramount as well. She notes, “We have an opportunity and an obligation to understand the various needs of our many customers, including referring providers, and this is what differentiates Axes in the market.  Experience can’t be taught and that’s why it matters to have experienced therapists who have long-standing relationships and open communication with referring physicians and their staff.”

For patients who’ve suffered a work-related injury, Mandy and her team understand that there are many stakeholders, including the injured worker, and she works hard to communicate with all parties involved in the claim. “The days of working in silos are over. Multidisciplinary care requires communication and understanding of each parties’ perspective and needs. The rehabilitation of an injured worker requires a level of experience and an understanding of the workers’ compensation system. This is what I provide,” Mandy states unequivocally.

The South County clinic will be a full-service facility with the following services offered:
