4 Paws envisions a world where people with disabilities can realize their full potential – one service dog at a time.
Axes Gives Back: Supporting 4 Paws for Ability
At Axes Physical Therapy, caring for people goes beyond the clinic. With 21 locally owned locations in the Greater St. Louis region, we restore movement
and independence through physical and occupational therapy. Each month, our Axes Physical Therapy Foundation makes a monetary donation to a staff-nominated nonprofit so they can purchase exactly what’s needed, when it’s needed.
For October, we’re honored to support 4 Paws for Ability—a nonprofit that trains and places task-trained service dogs with individuals who have disabilities, helping families experience greater safety, confidence, and independence.
What 4 Paws for Ability Does
4 Paws for Ability raises, trains, and places highly skilled service dogs with children and adults with disabilities (including veterans). Depending on the person’s needs, dogs may be trained for tasks such as autism assistance, seizure response, diabetic alert, mobility support, or hearing alert, among others. The organization also provides handler education and ongoing support to help each new team thrive.
This Work Matters
At Axes, we see every day how the right support can transform what’s possible—whether that’s a personalized rehab plan or a dog trained to perform life-changing tasks. 4 Paws for Ability’s mission of fostering independence, safety, and participation in daily life aligns closely with our own.
How Axes Is Helping
This month, the Axes Physical Therapy Foundation is making a monetary donation to 4 Paws for Ability. Our gift supports the training and placement of service-dog teams—allowing the organization to direct funds to the areas of greatest need. All donations made in the month of October will go directly to 4 Paws.
