Axes is a small, locally owned and operated physical therapy company serving our communities in the Greater St. Louis Missouri and Illinois area. We’re fortunate to be able to offer our services at 20 locations, with the mission to help as many people as possible. Our profession is all about helping others and giving back. Through the service of physical and occupational therapy, we give our patients’ their livelihoods, lifestyles, and abilities back. Since giving back is the fundamental reason that our organization exists, it was important to the ownership and staff of Axes Physical Therapy to make sure that we are doing all that we can to give back to the communities we love.
In early 2022, Axes launched the Axes Physical Therapy Foundation to take our giving to the next level. Each month, Axes partners with a local, staff nominated charitable organizations to donate food, goods, clothes, and funds through our “Wear Jeans, Change Lives” initiative. Employees of Axes contribute to a St. Louis area charitable cause by automatic payroll deduction, this money goes into the Axes Foundation, and our employees get to wear jeans to work on Fridays. With these moneys, Axes supported Childrens’ Medical Mission West in January ’24, Stray Rescue of St. Louis in February ’24,The BackStoppers, Inc in March ’24, theAutism Foundation in April ’24, and Dream Builders 4 Equity in May ’24!
Axes Physical Therapy is deeply rooted in the Greater St. Louis community. For the month of May, Axes is excited to partner with Dream Builders 4 Equity, a transformative organization dedicated to addressing inequality in St. Louis through unique initiatives that create lasting change. Their mission is to build a more equitable community by providing disadvantaged youth with opportunities for personal development, economic empowerment, and community engagement.
Dream Builders 4 Equity takes a holistic approach to community building and youth empowerment. Through their innovative programs, they aim to transform both lives and landscapes, creating a ripple effect of positive change. Here are some of the key areas where Dream Builders 4 Equity makes a profound impact:
Youth Development: Dream Builders 4 Equity provides mentorship and life skills training for young people, giving them the tools and guidance they need to succeed. These programs focus on personal growth, leadership, and self-sufficiency, ensuring that youth have a path to success- Home Renovation and Equity Building: This program provides youth with hands-on experience in home renovation, teaching them valuable skills while revitalizing neighborhoods. The organization then sells the renovated homes, with proceeds used to fund scholarships for the participating youth and to reinvest in the community.
- Economic Empowerment: Dream Builders 4 Equity offers scholarships and financial support for educational pursuits, helping youth to build equity in their lives through education and entrepreneurship. This support extends to assisting youth in publishing books, creating art, and other entrepreneurial endeavors, creating multiple pathways to financial stability.
