Axes Gives Back May ’22: Jazz

“Advancing the uniquely American art of jazz.”

Axes is a small, locally owned and operated physical therapy company serving our communities in the Greater St. Louis area. We’re fortunate to be able to offer our services at 15 locations, with the mission to help as many people as possible. Our profession is all about helping others and giving back. Through the service of physical and occupational therapy, we give our patients’ their livelihoods, lifestyles, and abilities back.

Since giving back is the fundamental reason that our organization exists, it was important to the ownership and staff of Axes Physical Therapy to make sure that we are doing all that we can to give back to the communities we love. Each month, Axes partners with a local, staff nominated charitable organization to donate food, goods, clothes, and funds through our “Wear Jeans, Change Lives” initiative. Employees of Axes contribute to a St. Louis area charitable cause by automatic payroll deduction and get to wear jeans to work on Fridays. In the later months of 2021 and first quarter of 2022, the Axes Physical Therapy Foundation is honored to have given back to 501C3s such as Spirit of Discovery Park,  Forest Park ForeverBoys and Girls Clubs of St. Louis, Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition, and in July ’22, we are supporting Jazz St. Louis!

Jazz St. Louis is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to lead our community in advancing the uniquely American art of jazz through performance, education, and community engagement. For over 25 years, Jazz St. Louis has been the foremost presenter of jazz in St. Louis and throughout the region. They are dedicated to preserving the legacy of this musical genre. Hundreds of local and nationally renowned musicians, such as Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Harry Connick, Jr. and Al Jarreau have graced their stage. Year after year, Jazz St. Louis strives to be the leader in showcasing unique and diverse jazz performers and preserves the shared cultural heritage embodied in jazz music through our educational programs.

Thank you to our Axes patients, staff, friends, and clients for your continued support of our small business, assisting those in need, and contributing to our greatest mission – to give back. With your help, Jazz St. Louis instructs the next generation of jazz musicians and audiences, connects St. Louis and the surrounding community through the uniquely American art form of jazz and presents world-class jazz artists in an intimate and accessible way. Our myriad of education programs are provided free-of-charge to thousands of students each year throughout the underserved communities of St. Louis and at the Centene Jazz Education Center.
