2020 has presented many challenges to our health and well-being, both physically and emotionally. This has impacted ALL of us. What we do know is that movement is one of the most effective strategies to improve overall wellness with ZERO side-effects. It has been recently said that “sitting is the new smoking” and how many of us have been doing more sitting in 2020? *Planet Earth raises both hands* The side-effects of this sedentary lifestyle are profound, with overall population health negatively affected. We’ve all seen it – friends, families, co-workers – suffering the harmful health effects from not moving or exercising, eating poorly or consuming excessive alcohol.
It’s time for change. The owners of Axes Physical Therapy recognized the impact that inactivity has had on their lives in 2020. Weight gain, decreased cardiovascular endurance, strength loss, joint pain, stress, anxiety and the list goes on…. They decided to do something about it. All have committed to changing their lives for the better. It’s starting with a weight loss challenge where they’re holding each other accountable to lose weight. For further accountability, and to encourage others to make a commitment to change their lifestyle for the better, we’ve decided make a challenge of it.
