“Our mission is to end pet homelessness, promote responsible pet ownership, and advocate for animal welfare.”
-Five Acres Animal Shelter
Axes is a small, locally owned and operated physical therapy company serving our communities in the Greater St. Louis area. We’re fortunate to be able to offer our services at 12 locations, with the mission to help as many people as possible. Our profession is all about helping others and giving back. Through the service of physical and occupational therapy, we give our patients’ their livelihoods, lifestyles, and abilities back.
Since giving back is the fundamental reason that our organization exists, it was important to the ownership and staff of Axes Physical Therapy to make sure that we are doing all that we can to give back to the communities we love. Each month, Axes partners with a local, staff nominated charitable organization to donate food, goods, clothes, and funds through our “Wear Jeans, Change Lives” initiative. Employees of Axes contribute to a St. Louis area charitable cause by automatic payroll deduction and get to wear jeans to work on Fridays. In the later months of 2020 and early 2021, we are honored to have given back New Hope Resource Center, St. Patrick Center, Bree’s Gift, and for the current month of February 2021, Five Acres Animal Shelter.
Five Acres Animal Shelter is the only no-kill animal shelter in St. Charles County, Missouri. They do NOT euthanize their animals to make room for new ones. The dogs and cats in their care stay as long as needed until they find their forever home. The majority of their animals come from private citizens who are unable to keep their pets for one reason or another, and they love and care for them until they find another family for them to join.
For the month of February, Axes employee charitable contributions will supp0rt Five Acres Animal Shelter in their mission to end pet homelessness, promote responsible pet ownership, and advocate for animal welfare. Five Acres Animal Shelter is a 501C3 non-profit organization and relies on private donations, corporate support, events, and grants to be able to provide such services. Most of the animals they accept are healthy, however they do take some animals in bad shape who require extensive veterinary care. These pets need help the most but their care can be very costly, even with local veterinarians assisting in keeping costs down.
